Our Team
João Filipe Brochado Martins, PhD, endodontist
Graduated in dentistry from the University of Coimbra, Portugal in 2013. He settled in the Netherlands in 2016. He completed his 3-year specialist training with honors at the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) in 2022. During his specialist training, João developed an interest in research and has published in several renowned international journals. He has the privilege of teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate endodontic students at ACTA. He is a member of the Dutch Association for Endodontology, European Society for Endodontology and also of the American Association of Endodontists.
Ahmad Khalil, dentist (implantologist-periodontist in training),
Ahmad received his Bachelor's degree in Dental Technology/Prosthetics abroad in 2012 and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry from the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) in 2019. He then completed his Master of Science in Dentistry at ACTA in 2023. Since 2024, he has been following the Master's program in Periodontology and Implantology at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where he specializes in implant treatments and periodontal therapies. Ahmad is an enthusiastic clinician with extensive experience in prosthetics, surgical removals, indirect restorations, periodontology and implantology.
Mariana Raquel Soares Antunes, dentist specialising in pediatric dentistry
studied Dentistry at the University of Coimbra. Following her interest in pediatric dentistry, she completed a postgraduate program at CESPU University in 2020 and a specialization in the same field at Fernando Pessoa University in 2022. Since 2019, she has focused entirely on dental care for children. Her goal is for every child to feel safe and comfortable during dental visits. With her calm, patient, and empathetic approach, she creates a warm atmosphere. Mariana believes that every child is unique and tailors her treatment to match each child's pace and needs. She places great importance on prevention and building healthy habits from an early age.
Alex Esteban Pardo, endodontist
Originally from Barcelona (Spain), where he studied dentistry at the International University of Catalonia (UIC). After graduating as a dentist in 2015, he worked for three years in various clinics in Barcelona as a general dentist. Driven by curiosity to gain experience abroad, he moved to Flanders, Belgium, in 2018, where he worked for five years as a general dentist. Inspired by his growing interest in endodontology during this period, he decided to apply for the postgraduate program in Endodontics at ACTA, where he was admitted in 2022 and graduated in 2025. He is a member of the Spanish Association of Endodontics (AEDE) and the European Society of Endodontology (ESE).
Hend Sabri, endodontist
originally from Egypt, she graduated as a dentist from Mansoura University in 2007. After working for several years as a general dentist in the Netherlands, she specialized in endodontics. In 2019, Hend completed her dental endodontic training at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) and obtained her MSc in Oral Health Sciences. She is a recognized endodontist by the Dutch Association for Endodontology, a certified member of the European Society for Endodontology (ESE), and an international member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE).
Vasilis Zioutis, endodontist
Originally from Greece. In 2014, he graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After completing his studies, he worked at the General Army Hospital of Thessaloniki. Since 2016, he has been living in the Netherlands, where he has worked in various dental practices as a general dentist. In 2018, Vasilis completed an advanced course in aesthetic dentistry at Radboud University in Nijmegen. However, his true passion lies in endodontics. In 2019, he was accepted into the postgraduate program in Endodontics at ACTA. He graduated in 2022 and now works exclusively as an endodontist, specializing in apical microsurgery and endodontic treatments. He is a member of the Dutch Association for Endodontology, European Society for Endodontology and also of the American Association of Endodontists.
