First Consult
Before starting the treatment, you will meet with our specialist to discuss your issues and/or complains. During that meeting we will examine the root cause and explore possible treatment options together with associated costs.
To diagnose your dental problem and plan your treatment accurately we will conduct special investigations and do necessary X-rays. In certain instances, a 3D scan (CBCT) may be recommended to gain detailed information about the tooth and its health condition. Thanks to 3D technology we can carry out root canal treatment more effectively.
Together we will decide on the most suitable treatment for you. The consultation takes on average half an hour.

Our Team
João Filipe Brochado Martins,
endodontist graduated as a dentist in 2013 from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Since then, he has worked as a general dentist mainly focused on endodontics.
João Filipe settled in the Netherlands in 2016. He completed his 3-year specialist training with distinction (cum laude) at Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) in 2022.
During his specialist training, João developed an interest in research and has published in several renowned international journals. He is privileged to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate endodontic students at ACTA.
He is a member of the Dutch Society for Endodontology, European Society for Endodontology and also American Association of Endodontists.

Yvonne Potgieser,
is a dentist who graduated from ACTA in 2007. Her journey into endodontics began during her dental education, igniting her passion for the field. After completing her degree, Yvonne worked in various dental practices, where she performed numerous root canal treatments using a microscope to assist her colleagues. She also dedicated herself to continuous learning by attending numerous courses and workshops focused on endodontics.
In 2019, Yvonne seized the opportunity to enroll in the Postgraduate program in endodontics at ACTA, solidifying her commitment to the field. Since 2021, she has transitioned away from general dentistry and now exclusively specializes in performing root canal treatments. Yvonne is proud to be registered with both the NVVE (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Endodontologie) and ESE (European Society of Endodontology).
